Station Rose
«Virtual Reality as a New Border Area»
Station Rose was founded in Vienna in 1988 by Gary Danner & Elisa Rose as the first public multi-media project in Vienna. For many of its successors it anticipated the multimedia/Net/clubbing and theory/sampling complex, and triggered similar projects. One of STR's slogans is 'hi+lo', another is 'Gunafa'.

This first CD-ROM, still produced on Commodore Amiga, is the result of a commission from the Austrian Ministry of Science and Research. It was issued with the 11/1992 edition of 'Chip inside' in a run of 5000 copies. It main aim according to Station Rose is not 'to offer intelligent Infotainment, but to use years of performance experience to create an 'interactive landscape‘, and to make it appealing for users to investigate this.' The disk also contains three audio tracks.
